Legacy Funds for Education: Partnering for a Future Beyond Loss

"Education is one thing no one can take away from you." — Elin Nordegren

Colonel Kevin John McAleese believed education was more than a personal achievement — it was a promise.
A promise of access. Of empowerment. Of a future not defined by circumstance but shaped by possibility.

As Executive Director of the Miss Philadelphia/Miss America Scholarship Organization, Kevin mentored hundreds of young women, raising over $150,000 in scholarships to fuel their dreams. He saw education as a bridge — from where someone was, to where they were meant to be.

In his honor, the Kevin John McAleese Foundation has gifted over $50,000 in academic support to aspiring students — future doctors, journalists, lawyers, business leaders, and creatives — all carrying forward the stories of those who once believed in them.

Now, we expand this mission — not just to honor Kevin’s legacy, but to live it forward.

The Legacy Education Fund Initiative

We are building individual education funds for the children of glioblastoma patients and survivors — children who have faced unimaginable loss, yet still carry incredible potential. These personalized funds will create a bridge from grief to growth — giving children a path to education, healing, and hope.

What if no child who lost a parent to glioblastoma had to lose their future too?
What if your bank or foundation could help make that future possible?

We’re seeking financial institution partners to help us create:

  • Custom donation portals for each family

  • Secure, shareable donor links for friends, family, and extended networks

  • Sustainable educational legacies built in honor of those lost too soon

This is not just a scholarship. It’s a sacred trust.

Glioblastoma may steal time — but it cannot take purpose, potential, or the enduring impact of love.
Together, we can ensure the dreams of parents are not buried, but reborn through their children.

Let’s make sure these children know:
Their story doesn’t end here.
Their future is worth fighting for.
And their loved one’s legacy lives on — in them.
